On our initial visit, the installer will be talking with you about the product you are wanting. The installer will go over all the necessary steps needed to move forward and complete the project. Once these steps are lined out and all questions are answered, the installer will then take measurements of your space.
After the installer has all relevant information, an estimate can be issued. Depending on the complexity of the project, you may receive your estimate during the initial visit.
Once you receive your estimate, you will be able to schedule a date to begin.
All projects require preparation. The extent of preparation is discussed during the initial visit.
All concrete surfaces will be prepared using a stand-up grinder for the main body of the surface. The edges will be prepared using a hand grinder. A considerable amount of dust will be created by these machines. A vacuum with a HEPA filter will be used in conjunction with the tools.
Once the prepared area is cleaned with the vacuum, a moisture barrier is applied. Depending on your desired product, the basecoat will be tinted to a color that is compatible with your chosen finished colors. This vapor barrier/basecoat will permeate the surface for maximum adhesion and moisture resistance.
Flake:
Once the basecoat is applied, your desired flake choice is thrown into the epoxy. The amount of flakes that are applied vary by project size, but all projects are 100% covered with flake.
Metallic:
After the basecoat is applied, it needs to have time to cure. Once the cure time has passed, the colors are laid out across the floor. Using various tools, the epoxy is pushed, swirled, or dragged across the floor to achieved a desired look.
Flake:
Once the epoxy cures, flakes may be sticking up. This causes sharp edges that need to be addressed. A flat scrapper is pushed across the surface to take off those sharp edges. After scrapping, the surface is vacuumed and ready for topcoat. Depending on the desired finish, an aggregate can be applied for more slip resistance.
Metallic:
Once the Color coat has cured, one of two finishes can be applied.
1. The high gloss finish makes any space brighter and makes the smallest details standout.
2. The Satin Finish will bring the sheen down a notch, but this will not distract from the amazing details. With an aluminum oxide aggregate mixed in, this helps add more slip resistance to your floor.
